ART OF LIVING — LIVING WITH ART
At Galerie ARTE, design extends naturally from art—a way of inhabiting African creation in everyday life.
Each piece is conceived in Dakar, crafted from precious African woods, and bears the signature of Joelle le Bussy. It reflects a dialogue between contemporary inspiration and African heritage—between form, material, and craftsmanship.
The furniture unfolds along two lines:
— a tradition-rooted approach, incorporating heritage elements (Dogon, Ashanti, Baoulé, Bamoun doors)
— a contemporary language of refined lines, noble wood assemblies, geometric motifs, and hand-crafted handles in iron or bronze (lost-wax casting)
Each creation is a unique piece, conceived as an artwork.
The atelier no longer accepts bespoke commissions. It develops exclusively singular works, presented and available at the gallery. This choice reflects a clear approach: to propose furniture shaped by a vision, rather than standardized production.
The catalogue presented on our web site offers an insight into the spirit of our style and creations; some pieces have already joined private collections and are no longer available.
The gallery remains the primary place to discover these works and inquire about availability.
